We have been spotted by the media, what's cooking?

Where did Tuk Tuk Athens went? Certainly there's something there being prepared. Not normal to see Tuk Tuk Athens going all the way to Crete or to Mykonos for some days. Only one thing to do, and that is wait and see in a near future in what Tuk Tuk Athens as participated.

Here is everything you need to know if you're travelling to Greece. All travellers are permitted to enter in Greece. Before arriving travellers must complete the online Passenger Locator Form (PLF) at least 24 hours before their arrival to Greece. Only one PLF is requested per family.

Welcome back to our #ExperienceOfTheWeek series! This week, we are interviewing Carlos, the founder of the Tuk Tuk Athens tour agency. So if you’re heading out on an adventure to Greece this summer, hop on and read something about what tours Carlos and his team offer and why a Tuk Tuk tour is something you should experience in the capital of Greece.

Q1: Hi Carlos, how are you doing?

Very well, thank you. It has been a very strange, difficult, and different year. At the moment enjoying more time with the family, doing more sports and trying to study other sectors.

Q2: Tell us more about Tuk Tuk Athens. Where did the idea come from?

Tuk Tuk Athens started in the Summer of 2019, months before the break out of the Covid 19. The idea occurred to me as it was something that Athens didn’t have yet, eco-friendly tuk tuks performing tours, a business model that already exists in all major cities of Europe.

I just love the idea, as I am a natural discovery that likes to know all places that you can go to. I reach my goal when I see my clients happy and enjoying their tour and visit.

Q3: The city of Athens is an amazing destination and I bet there are dozens of things to show to fellow travelers. How big is your team? Are you all locals?

Yes, definitely.

Well, the Covid 19 hit us just on the start, and to be honest, fortunately, because our plan of growth was set to be implemented during the operation of the company and with the result of income.

Due to that and to the Covid 19, our team did not grow, and we only have one Tuk Tuk at the moment, waiting that the re-start of the tourism arrives and that we can activate again or plan for growth.

Q4: Your selection of tours is literally endless and you can save visitors so much time by bringing them to so many places on wheels. What are the most popular activities among travelers who come to you?

The most popular one is the complete city tour, where in 3 hours you can have the full picture of the city center and the Old Town, you will see all the major and important sites there are to see in the city.

Q5: Today many people travel and plan their itineraries on their own. Why would you recommend booking one of your experiences to our travelers?

For someone who does not know the city, and that it’s their first time in Athens, or someone that maybe is just passing by Athens, that have a plan of going to the islands, and just stay one day or less in the city, or anyone that wants to do a big ride around all the neighborhoods of the city.

I think our services are the best there are to show you around the city in a short period of time, with our tours you are able to get a complete full picture of the whole city center and old town, like if you were walking around the city, although you are not, you are going slowly, smoothly without making noise, stopping and taking your pictures whenever you want, feeling and listen to the city while you ride around it. Don’t forget that the Tuk Tuk is small and it can go basically everywhere.

Q7: The travel industry is in uncharted waters right now but we all hope travel will rebound soon. Do you have any special plans prepared for 2021?

My plan at the moment is to wait, hope that the rebound arrives soon. Profiting the time to create more services and tours.

Q8: Last but not least, what is your favorite must-see in Athens that you’d take your friends to see or experience? Tips from a true local are always worth it ��

There are a couple of places that I always take my clients, sightseeing spots that leave you with an awesome view of Athens and Acropolis, that I think is a picture to remember.

I also recommend the neighborhood of Psiri, just next to Monastiraki, it’s a must to spend a nice afternoon or evening.
